About EVO

An IB Continuum school in west Cairo — nurturing inquiring minds through a world-class education from early years to Diploma.

Our mission

EVO empowers students by cultivating an equitable, ethical and inclusive learning environment that prioritises well-being, creativity, skills and knowledge. We develop socially-conscious global citizens who both embrace intercultural understanding and actively preserve their local identity and traditions.

Evolution International School opened in September 2018, beginning with a Montessori education in the early years. It has since grown into a full IB Continuum school — one community, one journey, from age three to the Diploma Programme.

One community. One journey. Always evolving. The EVO promise — an IB Continuum school

What that looks like in practice

  • A progressive, non-traditional education model built on inquiry rather than transmission
  • Character development running alongside academics, not after them
  • A positive approach to behaviour, combined with structured opportunities for leadership, community service, creativity and independence
  • Learners who leave with confidence, compassion and skills fit for the world they are entering

Our brand & emblem

At the heart of the identity is the letter E — for EVO. The letter is reimagined as a flag-like form, symbolising progress, direction and forward momentum.

Historically, flags have represented identity, unity and aspiration. They mark belonging, signal leadership, and stand as symbols of shared values and collective purpose. By drawing on that universal symbolism, the emblem carries more than a letter: it carries what the school is for.

A word from our Director

An education is what a student can still do when the exam is over.

Walk through EVO on a normal morning and the first thing you notice is the talking. Three-year-olds negotiating over a set of Montessori materials. Ten-year-olds arguing about what their evidence actually shows. Diploma students defending a position they have had to research properly first. That noise is the work.

We are an IB Continuum school, and we mean the word continuum. A child who joins us in the Children's House at three meets the same expectations, in a different form, at eighteen: ask a real question, look for honest evidence, take a considered position, and be willing to revise it. The Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma are not three schools stacked on top of one another. They are one long conversation with a young person about how to think.

Character sits alongside the academics rather than after them. Service, creativity, sport, the arts, more than thirty clubs, and a Model United Nations programme where students learn to hold a room while representing a country whose position may not be their own — these are where a great deal of the growing actually happens.

What I would want any visiting family to know is this: our students are known here. In a school this size, with a teacher for every six of them, nobody is carried along quietly at the back. If your child is thriving we will tell you why, and if they are struggling we will tell you that too, early and plainly, and then we will do something about it together.

One journey. Always evolving. Come and see it on an ordinary day — that is when a school tells you the truth about itself.

Leadership

Teaching quality is not left to chance. Every teacher at EVO holds a recognised teaching certificate — a UK PGCE or equivalent. Main subject and homeroom teachers must demonstrate high English proficiency, and a minimum of five years' teaching experience is required.
